Breathing and the lymph system.

Breathing and the lymph system.

I take appointments on a daily basis for people with some type of musculo-skeletal problem, which nearly always correlates with their immune/lymphatic system.

The lymph system is a “drainer” of metabolic waste and when there is a musculo-skeletal problem there will always be metabolic waste that needs to be considered.

This waste, if allowed to accumulate, causes swelling and pain and can often cause the person to become anxious and their thinking to become negative and even depressive.

The lymph system has no “pump” of its own. For it to circulate it requires low grade movement, respiratory function, particularly breathing with the diaphragm, and gravity because of movement.

When there is a musculo-skeletal problem there will correspondingly be less movement, therefore one of the main “movers” of the lymph system is affected, hence inflammation and swelling, which leads to even less movement.

In my experience, when this occurs I can influence the lymph flow via a person’s mind. After all, if you follow my blogs you will have seen how breathing is affected by one’s mind. Remember that one of the important aspects of lymph movement is breathing, so to focus your mind on your breathing will affect your lymphatic flow.

Mind and body are now working as one mindbody, causing lymphatic flow.
