Everything in moderation.

Everything in moderation.

Yes to coffee, no to coffee.

Yes to carbs, no to carbs.

Less protein, more protein.

Do this program, not that program.

Try this new diet, not that one.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!

My granny told me once that everything in moderation is good. So what do we do? Not everything in moderation but a few things to excess is what we do, and those few things in excess can cause great distress.

Too much coffee and up goes your blood pressure.

Too much alcohol and up goes your risk of heart disease, decreased liver function and much more.

Too many carbs or too much protein and up goes that waistline measurement.

You get my drift? Isn’t this all just common sense? Do we need more of the latest research to tell us that in reality we are not aware? “Not aware of what?” I hear you say. Not aware of excess, of too much, that’s all.

Granny was right. She must have been more aware, don’t you think? She didn’t drink alcohol all day or eat chocolate until it came out of her ears. She didn’t just eat carbs or protein exclusively. She knew – she was aware enough to know that everything in moderation was ok. She knew an apple a day kept the doctor away.

Go granny, you knew.
